Covering Camberley, College Town, Frimley and surrounding areas
The patch at Sandhurst consists of a number of houses in and out of the wire. At the back of the patch outside of the wire is Barossa Training Area, a lowland heath habitat and excellent dog walking area! Check out this link for more information and maps http://www.surreywildlifetrust.org/reserves/barossa
A short walk from camp and the patch is The Square and The Atrium; two shopping and leisure facilities. In The Square are a good range of shops and cafes, including a small Boots, Costa coffee and a decent House of Fraser. The Atrium has a range of good quality eateries including Wildwood, Bill's Cafe, Wagamama and Nandos. There is also a Vue Cinema and Ten Pin bowling alley (details can be found in the Services section of this site).
For the weekly grocery shopping, there is a formidable Tesco Extra at The Meadows Centre, just a 5 minute drive from the patch. Details of The Meadows Centre, which is also home to a very impressive M&S, can be found at http://www.meadowscentre.co.uk/
In Blackwater, just a 3 minute drive from The Meadows, you'll find an Aldi and a Lidl. There are also two Waitrose stores locally; one on Yorktown Road just outside the College Town gate of RMAS and another in Bagshot, which is about 10 minutes away from camp.
Farnborough is the place to go if you are looking for a B&Q, Hobbycraft, furniture stores and other outlet-style stores like Decathlon.
Farnham is a beautiful little town with a good variety of independent boutiques as well as restaurants and bars. It holds regular farmers' markets in this quintessentially English setting. It's about a 30 minute drive from camp but well worth it for a change of scenery.
A train from Camberley will get you into London in about 1hr30. Check times from Blackwater station if you are going to Reading, Guildford or further afield as these are much more direct.
