The Patch

Aldershot Garrison has SFA estates in Aldershot North & South. Church Crookham in Fleet has housing for Aldershot units and Cove, Farnborough and Yateley for other units. All estates have a selection of semi-detached and terraced houses. Some officers’ estates have detached properties. All estates have a selection of children’s play areas nearby.

NOTE: Some families report that in some instances people being posted to Aldershot Garrison have been offered SFA housing in Camberley during the allocation process. Apparently when applications have been submitted for housing in this area, it has been rejected, despite being offered. Bear this in mind when making your selection and speak to your HIVE officer for further clarification.

Dog walking

Rowhill Nature Reserve is located just on the edge of Aldershot and is a beautiful setting. With a mix of flora and fauna, it's popular with families too. Details can be found here. Otherwise, try Fleet Pond or Ceasar's Camp

Shopping

There is a 24hr Tesco Superstore and a large Morrisons, both off the A232 and close to SFA housing. There is also a Lidl not far from these stores. For department stores and a wide range of shops, Guildford is a 25min drive away or a 20min train.

The Wellington Centre is a good size shopping centre in the heart of Aldershot. It has many of your everyday stores, details of which can be found here.

Local places to visit and going further afield

Farnborough is the place to go if you are looking for a B&Q, Hobbycraft, furniture stores and other outlet-style stores like Decathlon.

Farnham is a beautiful little town with a good variety of independent boutiques as well as restuarants and bars. It holds regular farmers' markets in this quintessentialy English setting. It's about a 15 minute drive from Aldershot, well worth it for a change of scenery.

A train from Aldershot will get you into London in about 1 hour.
